Funerals

A Church of England (Anglican) funeral is available to everyone and can be held in a place that you choose – a church building, a crematorium or a green burial ground.

The message at all Church of England funerals, wherever they happen, is one of hope. Although there is sadness because a loved one has died, in every Church of England funeral there will also be a message of hope in life after death through faith in Jesus Christ

If you would like a funeral service at our church building - or for a minister to lead a service elsewhere - please contact your funeral director, who will then contact the minister on your behalf. If you live nearby a church minister will then arrange to visit you.

You will need to tell the funeral director that you want a Church of England funeral as they may otherwise ask another minister.

The minister will help you plan a service which honours the person you knew and loved in a way that the gives comfort and hope. This minister will then conduct the funeral service for you at the place of your choosing.

There is space in the graveyard at Holy Trinity for the ashes of your loved ones to be buried, but regrettably, there is no further space available for graves at Holy Trinity, unless your loved one is to be buried in an existing family plot.
